Anthem by Ayn Rand

Author: Ayn Rand
Genre: Dystopian
Rating: 6

I read this novella shortly after finishing The Book Thief. It is a short book, about 80 pages and can be read quickly. Overall the book was good. I think it was worth the time it took to read it, especially if you are a fan of dystopian literature. The characters are not incredibly developed, and the storyline has been since done (so if you are a fan of dystopian literature, it may seem overdone, but remember that this is one of the first works) but I think it is good enough to be important. The book had a strong message, and I think that Ayn Rand was opinionated enough that her ideas would shine through anything she wrote pretty strongly, but while the message is strong it is delicate and almost beautiful.

This is a book that I think is definitely worth reading if you have an afternoon to spare.
